Systems & accessibility

Work is enterprise focused, therefore not many images of work may be published publicly. Low-fidelity images provided when applicable.

Overview

Forma is a shared design system for a growing suite of products. Teams were solving the same interface problems in different ways. I partnered with designers and engineers to create foundations that support speed without sacrificing quality.

Context

A product audit revealed fragmented patterns, duplicated components, and uneven accessibility. The system needed to work across existing products while giving teams a practical path toward greater consistency.

The challenge

How might we create a shared language that makes the right design decision easier for every team?

The design question

Make consistency the easiest choice.

The approach

We audited real product screens, mapped repeated behaviors, and prioritized the patterns with the widest impact. Working sessions with product teams helped us distinguish shared needs from useful local differences.

The work

We established accessible color and type foundations, reusable components, and guidance that explains when and why to use each pattern. A lightweight contribution model helped the system become a shared practice rather than a separate destination.

Reflection

A design system succeeds when it changes how teams work together. The most valuable deliverable was a clearer shared language. Next, I would invest in adoption measurement, contribution feedback, and the patterns that connect entire workflows.
